Cookie Policy

Effective: April 20, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how the Dataken website at dataken.aiuses browser storage technologies — and, more importantly, what we deliberately don’t do.

The short version

We do not set cookies. We do not use tracking pixels, session replay, heatmap tools, or advertising trackers of any kind.

We use Cloudflare Web Analyticsto count aggregate page views. It is cookieless, runs without identifying individuals, and its beacon does not write to your browser’s storage.

The only data stored in your browser by the Site is a single localStorage entry recording your theme preference (light or dark mode). Nothing more.

The details

A. localStorage: dataken-theme

When you toggle between light and dark mode, your browser saves the preference to localStorage under the key dataken-theme. This allows your chosen theme to persist across visits without requiring you to toggle again.

  • Purpose: functional (preference persistence).
  • Scope: your browser only.
  • Never transmitted to Dataken or any third party.
  • Delete anytime: clear your browser’s localStorage for dataken.ai.

Under the EU ePrivacy Directive and UK PECR, this entry is considered strictly necessary for the delivery of a feature you explicitly requested by clicking the theme toggle, and therefore does not require consent.

B. No cookies

We do not set any HTTP cookies. Not session cookies, not persistent cookies, not first-party, not third-party. Not even for analytics.

C. Aggregate analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count aggregate page views across the Site. It differs from conventional analytics tools in three ways:

  • No cookies. The beacon does not read or write cookies, nor any other browser storage.
  • No fingerprinting. Events are sampled at the edge and aggregated. We cannot identify individual visitors from the analytics data.
  • No cross-site tracking. Data is never joined with any other site’s data or sold.

We use this data only to understand broad traffic patterns on the Site (which pages are viewed, roughly how often). That’s it.

We do not use Google Analytics, Plausible, Umami, Fathom, PostHog, Heap, Hotjar, Mixpanel, Segment, or any other analytics or session-replay service. We do not embed advertising pixels from Meta, Google, LinkedIn, or any other network.

D. What our hosting provider may log

Our static hosting provider maintains standard server request logs (IP address, user agent, request time) for security and operational purposes. These logs are handled by the hosting provider according to their own terms. They are not used by Dataken for tracking, profiling, or advertising.

E. Third-party services

The Site uses only the following third-party service:

  • Google Fonts — our fonts (Geist, Geist Mono) are loaded through Next.js’s font optimization, which self-hosts the fonts. Requests for fonts do not leak to Google servers at page load.

When you book a demo through our “Book a 30-minute demo” button, you are redirected to Microsoft Bookings. Microsoft’s cookies and policies apply on their domain.

Disabling browser storage

If you’d prefer not to have your theme preference saved, you can:

  • Clear your browser’s localStorage for dataken.ai.
  • Use a private or incognito browsing session (storage is cleared when the session ends).
  • Block localStorage for dataken.aiin your browser’s site settings.

Disabling localStorage means your theme preference will reset to dark mode on each visit. No other functionality on the Site depends on browser storage.

Changes

If we ever introduce additional storage — for example, if we add an analytics tool to understand Site usage — this Cookie Policy will be updated and material changes highlighted at the top for at least 30 days. We currently have no plans to do so.
